At project management field, there are two different way to do the project.                                                                                                 

follow the boss request to moving forward the project. When the boss is not familiar with new products and the markets, the project manager still following their road map.

Yes, this may get boss what they want, they might be happy becuase things finally all going like what they think.

The problem is they are not in the industry, their request can not be as standard. After few orders they will realize what they think may off road / market need pay cost.

The another way the moving forward the project is project manager don't totally following boss request, not a follower, not pass word.

The manager who very know the product / industry lead the project, They know what is the best option, I know how to aviod the problems. the process is not what boss familier. they might not happy about it, But this type manager's product is more hot selling at the market
